CLASSIE LEWIS

Classie Mae Lewis, 72, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at her home.

Ms. Lewis was born Feb. 13, 1936, in Emerson, Ark. She was a member and Sunday school teacher with Rose Hill COGIC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Lewis; and one son, James Charles Lewis.

Survivors include two sons, David Lewis and Timothy Lewis Sr. of Texarkana; two daughters, Dorothy “Mrs. B” Brantley and Elizabeth “Liz” Jones of Texarkana; one brother, McCoy Murphy Jr. of Texarkana; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Greater Shiloh COGIC with Katrene Hillery and Edward Williams officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
