Billy R. Higginbotham, 61, of DeKalb, Texas, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Higginbotham was born July 30, 1946, in Hattiesburg, Miss. He was a retired assistant administrator with Pinewood Hospital, a Baptist and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Higginbotham of DeKalb; one son, Phillip Higginbotham of Humble, Texas; one daughter, Michelle Higginbotham of Humble; two stepchildren, Lewis Jobe and Becky Easley of Texarkana; and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with John Hall officiating. Burial will be under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Relatives will be at No. 14 Lanshire, Texarkana, Texas.
