MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Erika Brown Nard, 52, of Mount Pleasant died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Nard was born Sept. 17, 1955, in Mount Pleasant. She was a medical technician with Pleasant Springs Nursing Home and member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she was assistant Sunday school superintendent, former mission presenter and choir member.

Survivors include one daughter, Glorinda Armour of Mount Pleasant; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ardie and Susan Armour of El Paso, Texas, and Abrian and Sequoia Armour of Houston; her mother, Melma Rea Brown of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Phillip Ray Brown of San Bernardino, Calif., and Stevie Brown of The Colony, Texas; one sister, Teresa Brown Gilbert of Mount Pleasant; seven grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Kirthell Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Cortznes Cemetery under direction of Tumey Mortuary.

The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
