JAMES FAULKNER SR.

CLARKSVILLE, Texas—James R. Faulkner Sr., 75, of Clarksville died Monday, July 14, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Faulkner was born May 29, 1933, in Clarksville. He was a member of American Legion Post 45, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Dimple Community Club and Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, a volunteer with Veterans of Foreign Wars Military Order of Cooties and RSVP and a Korean War and Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Brust Faulkner, in 2008; two sons, James Ray Faulkner Jr. and John Edward Faulkner; and one grandson, Charles Edward Faulkner.

Survivors include one son, Jerald Faulkner of Paris, Texas; one daughter, Joan Faulkner Smith of Clarksville; three sisters, Ovela Huddleston of Clarksville, Ruby Nell of Mena, Ark., and Marie Strickland of North Carolina; five brothers, Frank Faulkner, Thomas Faulkner, Troy “Buddy” Faulkner and Sammy Faulkner of Clarksville and Charles Faulkner of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Clarksville Funeral Home with the Revs. Sam Rice and Cindy Baker officiating. Burial will be in Jamison Chapel Cemetery.
