SHREVEPORT, La.—Jane H. Bazzell, 69, of Shreveport, La., died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Bazzell was born March 15, 1939, in Doddridge, Ark. She was a secretary, Sunday school director and teacher with Western Hills Baptist Church, past worthy grand matron of Order of the Eastern Star for the State of Louisiana, a Girl Scout leader and a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Bazzell; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and DeAnn Bazzell; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Quinn Nyman Jr.; one sister, Bess Starr; two brothers, Cecil Hanson and Neil Hanson; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Summer Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Rod Masteller and Joe Bob Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
