Nathaniel Paxton, 57, of Ashdown, Ark., died Saturday, July 12, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Paxton was born Nov. 13, 1950, in Ashdown. He was a member of Community Freewill Baptist Church, Ashdown, and an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mae Bell Paxton of Ashdown; two sons, Lavar Paxton of Texarkana and Steven Rhodes of Tollette, Ark.; one daughter, Catrina Mitchell of Lancaster, Texas; one brother, Willie Walton of Phoenix; four sisters, Linda Easter of Little Rock and Ardella Williams, Betty McKinney and Mable Walton of Phoenix; five grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
