Robert James Harper Sr., 62, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Harper was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Spearsville, La. He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Lamont Dell Harper of Mississippi and Robert Harper Jr. of California; one brother, Charles Edward Harper of Los Angeles; two sisters, Elnor Larry and Flora White of Texarkana; three grandchildren, Bryan Harper, Robert Lamont Harper Jr. and Jonah Harper; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with Elnor Larry officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.
