STAMPS, Ark.—Robert H. “Bob” Short, 89, of Buckner, Ark., died Thursday, July 17, 2008, in an England, Ark. nursing home. Mr. Short was born July 7, 1919, in Waldo, Ark. He was a retired electrician, past commander of The American Legion Post, member of First Methodist Church and World War II Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Neoma Short of England; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert T. and Laura Short of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter and son-in-law, Sallie and Anthony Del Vecchio of Edison, N.J.; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, John and Sara Shaw of Keo, Ark.; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Nancy and Jimmy Don Jackson of Searcy, Ark.; one sister, Martha Ricketts of Stamps; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Walthall and Gill Sills officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Lambertine Cemetery, Waldo. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Glaucoma Research Foundation, 251 Post Street Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94108.
