EDMOND BURNS JR.

Edmond “Baby” Burns Jr., 62, of Carson, Calif., died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Burns was born Aug. 9, 1945, in New Boston, Texas. He was a police officer, member of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church and a Vietnam Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Burns of Carson; his children, Damone, Victor, Larry and Jennell; two brothers, Joe Burns of Dallas and Jack Davenport of Phillips Ranch, Calif.; five sisters, Willie Pearl Barber, Dorothy Williams and Mildred Burns of New Boston, Dessie of Inglewood, Calif., and Louise Hainsworth of Hawthorne, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Antioch Prosperity Cemetery, New Boston, with the Rev. Monty Young officiating. Burial will be under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
