JOHN TOWNSEND

John C. Townsend, 93, of Maud, Texas, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, in a local nursing center.

Mr. Townsend was born May 18, 1915, in Philadelphia, Miss. He was retired from Day & Zimmermann Inc., former member of Maud School Board and Maud City Council, past president of Center Ridge Cemetery Association and a member and deacon of Maud Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Casey Townsend.
