DE QUEEN, Ark.—Doris Laverne Wilson, 73, of De Queen died Sunday, July 27, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Wilson was born Feb. 6, 1935. She was a licensed practical nurse, a former instructor at Cossatot Community College University of Arkansas and a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by one son, Sid Wilson.

Survivors include one son, Rod Wilson of San Benito, Texas; two daughters, Sandy Davis and Roberta Akins of De Queen; one brother, Larry Minor of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
