HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—Hugh “Mr. B” Butler, 83, of Avinger, Texas, died Monday, July 28, 2008, in a Longview, Texas, hospital.

Mr. Butler was born July 13, 1925, in Bernice, La. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Carter; and two grandchildren, Michael Granberry and LeAnna Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Clara; two sons, Steve Butler of Avinger and Bo Butler of Soper, Okla.; two daughters, Shirley Spencer and Ghena Starrett of Avinger; one brother, Jerry Butler of Sunland, Calif.; two sisters, Toni Johnson of Dallas and LaJuana Foster of Shreveport, La.; ...
