ATLANTA, Texas—Ardell Welcher, 90, of Atlanta died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, in Atlanta.

Mrs. Welcher was born Oct. 20, 1917, in Cass County, Texas. She was a member of Alamance Baptist Church and preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Welcher.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Gean and Vern Wilbanks Faye and Vic Sims of Queen City, Texas, and Pat Grogan of Atlanta; one special friend, Kathleen McCoy of Douglassville, Texas; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
