DE QUEEN, Ark.—Roy Wayne Smith, 83, of De Queen died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, in De Queen.

Mr. Smith was born Jan. 4, 1925, in De Queen. He was a supply clerk for Weyerhaeuser, a member of First United Methodist Church and a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Allen Smith of De Queen; two sons, Rodney Smith and Greg Smith of De Queen; two brothers, Arlis Smith and Mitchell Smith of De Queen; one sister, Myrtle Sims of De Queen; five grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
