James Edward Brooks, 66, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Brooks was born Oct. 21, 1941, in Autaugaville, Ala. He was a retired master sergeant with the Air Force and associate pastor of Rose Hill COGIC.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Brooks of Texarkana; two sons, James “B.B.” Brooks Jr. and Emmanuel “Eman” Brooks of Texarkana; five daughters, Stephanie N.
