Joyce Evelyn James, 79, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. James was born Oct. 28, 1928, in DeKalb, Texas. She was retired from Liberty-Eylau ISD and a member of Eylau Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joy James; one son, Benjamin James; and one daughter, Catherine Hosey.
