MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—J.S. Smith, 86, of Cason, Texas, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, in Hughes Springs, Texas.

Mr. Smith was born June 19, 1922, in Daingerfield, Texas. He was retired from Lone Star Steel Co., a member of Mount Mitchell Church of Christ, Omaha, Texas, and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by one son.
