Lelar Mae Cole Burns, 86, of Hooks, Texas, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, in Texarkana, Texas.

Mrs. Burns was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Tom, Okla. She was a member of Grandview COGIC. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Burns; and four sons, including Anderson, Timothy and Velious.

Survivors include one son, William K. Burns of Hooks; two daughters, Lydia Burns of Hooks and Erma M. Walton of Texarkana; one sister, Pearlene Beckom of Pasadena, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
