NEW BOSTON, Texas—Myrtle Venice Puckett, 98, of Hooks, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Puckett was born Feb. 26, 1910, in New Hope, Texas. She was a grocery store owner and a member of First Baptist Church, Hooks.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Mary Jane Puckett of Wimberley, Texas, and Donald and Betty Puckett of Dallas; two grandchildren, Todd Puckett of Dallas and Fran Puckett of Greenville, Texas; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
