Bessie Walker House, 97, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, in Los Angeles.

Mrs. House was born Sept. 9, 1911, in Dalby Springs, Texas. She was a member of Hegler Chapel CME Church, DeKalb, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde House; and one son, Frazier Crew McGowan.

Survivors include three daughters, Chrystal Rolston of Los Angeles, Vibbian Morgan of Inglewood, Calif., and Yolanda Shaw of Compton, Calif.; one sister, Ruth Davis of Surprise, Ariz.; one grandson, Deryl Brooks of Inglewood; and four great-grandchildren.
