DE QUEEN, Ark.—Cleo Gordon Bates, 94, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Bates was born May 19, 1914, in Mena, Ark. He was the owner and operator of Bates Dry Cleaners, a farmer, a rancher, a member of Sweet Home Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Rondo United Methodist Church and a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by one wife, Bernice McCrary Bates; and one daughter, Sue Ellen Bates.
