HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—Velma Lois Hall Lawless, 99, of Hesperia, Calif., died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008.

Mrs. Lawless was born Oct. 7, 1908, in Cass County, Texas. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was preceded in death by her husband, Mutt Lawless; and two children, Murlin Lawless and Jean Rhodes.

Survivors include two sisters, Odelia Womack of Linden, Texas, and Hazel Walker of Dallas; and a number of other relatives.
