ATHENS, Texas—Donald C. Paxton, 88, of Athens died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, in Athens.

Mr. Paxton was born March 10, 1920, in Neoga, Ill. He was a retired inspector for the Department of the Army, a member of First Baptist Church, Athens, and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Mae Howell Paxton, in 1996; and one son, Chester Don Paxton.
