Katherine Richards, 86, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Richards was born June 30, 1922, in Howard County, Ky. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Richards; and one son, David Smith.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Hubbard of Hooks, Texas; three sons and one daughter-in-law, R.C. Smith of Cass City, Mich., Ben and Sheila Smith of Texarkana and Michael Richards of Texas; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
