ATLANTA, Texas—Opal Powell Sherman Upchurch, 84, of Midland, Texas, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, in Conroe, Texas.

Mrs. Upchurch was born Aug. 8, 1924, in El Dorado, Ark. She was retired from Thomas Hospital, Thomas, Okla., a member of Kellview Heights Baptist Church, Midland, and a former member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta. She was preceded in death by one husband, Ordle Sherman; and one son, David Sherman.
