DE QUEEN, Ark.—John Lee Platt Sr., 69, of Horatio, Ark., died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Platt was born Oct. 10, 1939, in Tulsa, Okla. He was a tool and die maker and concrete finisher and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Shelia Donaldson Platt of Horatio; two sons, John Platt Jr. of Horatio and James Douglas Platt of De Queen; two stepsons, Kenneth Gillespie of Wisconsin and Gary Gillespie of Houston; one stepdaughter, Tina McCune of Little Elm, Texas; one sister, Mary Harvey of Little Elm; one special cousin, James Fr...
