LINDEN, Texas—Howard O. Duke of Linden died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Duke was born July 28, 1928, in O’Farrell, Texas. He was retired from Yellow Freight and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Frances Snider and Sharon and Bobby Bassler of Linden; one brother and sister-in-law, Vernice and Ann Duke of Lone Star, Texas; and one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lesa and Shawn King of Danbury, Conn.;
