HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—Sarah “MaeNon” Martin, 88, of Longview, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, in a Longview nursing home.

Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Gilmer, Texas. She was past member and vice president of Hughes Springs Garden Club and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Garland “Red” Martin; one son, Eric L. Martin of Longview; one daughter, Charlotte “Sherry” Carter of Baytown, Texas; one granddaughter, Sarah Vasquez of Baytown; one special nephew, Tony Collier; and a number of other relatives.
