Shadie Bell Bedford-Coulter, 85, of Texas City, Texas, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, in a Texas City nursing home.

Mrs. Bedford-Coulter was born April 22, 1923, in Knoxube, Ark. She was a retired teacher, a Girl Scout troop leader, a member of Fern Club, Phylaxis Society and L.W. Williamson, Daughters of Isis, Heroines of Jericho, Eastern Star, SLC, and a Sunday School teacher, choir member, Stewardess, leadership trainer, Cooperative Extension program member and member of Walker Chapel CME Church.
