Morris Ray Briggs, 73, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Briggs was born July 16, 1935, in Old Boston, Texas. He was a retired diesel mechanic with Diamond Shamrock Oil Co. and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Briggs; and one daughter, Kathy Briggs.
