Keegan Townsend, 87, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at his home.

Mr. Townsend was born July 4, 1921, in Nutrioso, Ariz. He was a former post commander and district commander of the American Legion and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Townsend of Texarkana; one daughter, Anita Kay Banks of Texarkana; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Terry Lee Townsend of Mabank, Texas, and Kip and Robin Townsend of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives.
