Carlton I. Pierce, 49, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, in a local hospital.

Mr. Pierce was born Sept. 19, 1959, in Texarkana. He was a member of COGIC.

Survivors include his mother, Gover Lee Summers; five brothers, Kenneth Charles White, James Charles White, Ben Pierce III, Levern C. Pierce of Texarkana and Gary Shawayne Pierce of Little Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Linda A. Miller and Evelyn J. Chivers of Texarkana and Pamela S. Walker of Atlanta; and a number of other relatives.
