HOPE, Ark.—Melvin Clifton Joy Jr., 69, of Memphis, Tenn., died Friday, May 8, 2009, at his home.

Mr. Joy was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Bryan, Texas. He was retired from Eco Laboratory, Memphis.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Becky Joy of Batesville, Miss.; one daughter, Galelyn J. Holland of Pontotoc, Miss.; four brothers, James E. Joy of Hempstead, Texas, Robert E. Joy of Marlow, Okla., and John Joy and David Joy of Hope; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
