SLIDELL, La.—Edrene Downs Berckes, 67, of Slidell, formerly of Texarkana, Ark., died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Berckes was a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, director of First United Methodist Church of Slidell Preschool and a member of United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Berckes; two children and one spouse, Alicia Berckes and Darren Coates and Christian Berckes; her mother, Irene Woolard Downs Burden; one sister, Elaine Huff; and three grandchildren, Archer Coates, Porter Coates and Isaac Berckes.
