Way back in 1923, a group of civic-minded local residents formed the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana.

There were 53 charter members in the new club. The first Kiwanis Club in the nation had been founded just eight years earlier, in Detroit.

Since then, the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana has been an important part of Texarkana.
