High school punishes teen for unflattering blog post

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is hearing a case that pits a student’s First Amendment rights against a school’s power to regulate student behavior off campus.

Lewis S, Mills High School in Burlington, Conn., took exception to something a student posted online and punished her by refusing to allow her to sit on the Student Council.
