Lethal keepsake up for grabs this weekend in Las Vegas

A small piece of history that had a big impact on Texas and the nation will go on sale this weekend in Las Vegas.

It is a gun. A .38-caliber Colt Cobra. Just an ordinary pistol, to be sure. Not even a rare item, as collectible guns go.

Except it was once owned by Dallas strip club owner Jack Ruby, who used this very gun on Nov. 24, 1963, to kill Lee Harvey Oswald in the basement of the Dallas Police Department. It was just two days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, whom Oswald was accused of killing.
