The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a report last week that most parents probably wish they would never have to know about.

But it’s important—vital even to the health of our young people.

The CDC found that at least one in every four teenage girls in the United States has a sexually transmitted disease.

That’s about 25 percent of girls between 14 and 19. More than 3 million in all.

The CDC didn’t study boys, but because it takes two there is likely a correlation.
