The Texarkana Animal Shelter cares for those who can’t care for themselves.

Every year thousands of lost or unwanted dogs, cats and other animals pass through the shelter’s doors. Some make it back home to the people who love them. Some find new loving families to take them in. That’s the joy of the shelter’s mission.

It’s true that some of these animals don’t find homes. And that’s heartbreaking for those who work with the animals. But it’s a fact of life—one that could be lessened if owners took more responsibility and had their pets spayed or neutered.
