Texarkana and several area cities got some good news last week.

A seven-year lawsuit over water contracts between seven Bowie County cities and Texarkana, Texas, ended and the communities emerged with a new spirit of cooperation.

Texarkana and the cities of New Boston, DeKalb, Hooks, Wake Village, Avery, Maud and Annona will form a municipal water district, with Texarkana Water Utilities budgeting $400,000 to cover the initial cost.
