Medicare Cuts

Congress should ensure doctors get paid, not face sliced fees

Senior citizens in Texarkana and across the nation depend on Medicare.

And physicians and others in the medical care industry must depend on the government if they hope to be paid for the work they do for Medicare patients.

Both sides could take a hit if Congress doesn’t work fast to fix a scheduled 10.6 percent fee cut to health care providers under the Medicare program.

The fee cut was set to take effect today under a formula that automatically cuts payments when the program spends too much.
