Today is the Fourth of July, Independence Day for our great nation.

It was 232 years ago today that the members of the Second Continental Congress, meeting in Philadelphia, adopted a declaration written by Thomas Jefferson of Virginia proclaiming the 13 colonies a free country, independent from the tyranny of Great Britain and King George.
