The Texarkana College Board of Trustees put off a decision on TC President Frank Coleman’s contract until a special meeting set for Aug. 5.

At their meeting Tuesday, the board decided it didn’t have legal authority to act on Coleman’s contract because the matter was not on the agenda in accordance with the Texas Open Meeting Act.

Come Aug. 5, the board could decide to renew or decline to renew Coleman’s contract, extend the contract or just put off a decision until sometime in the future. His contract expires in July of 2009.
