They say that two can live as cheaply as one.

Maybe so. But soon it will cost twice as much for two to become one in Texas.

Starting Sept.1, the state fee for a marriage license goes from $30 to $60. In many counties, there is an additional county fee added in as well.

And you can’t get married right away. Even after paying for the license you have to wait three days before heading to the altar.

One wonders if there is a refund should feet get cold during the wait.

The State Legislature passed the fee increase last year.
