First building at new TAMU-T campus heralds new era for city

These are exciting times for Texarkana.

Nothing symbolizes it more than the dedication Tuesday of the Science and Technology Building at the new Texas A&M University-Texarkana campus at Bringle Lake.

It was just under two years ago—September 2006—that several hundred gathered at the site of the new campus for a groundbreaking ceremony.

One of the speakers at the groundbreaking was billionaire business leader and Texarkana native H. Ross Perot.
