It’s hard to find the words to express our shock in the wake of the senseless murder Wednesday of Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney at his office in Little Rock.

The killer, a 5O-year-old Searcy, Ark., man named Timothy Dale Johnson, apparently had no connection to Gwatney. He had lost his his job at a Conway, Ark., discount store that morning for writing graffiti on a wall.
