There’s going to be a new bank in town. A very old, very big new bank.

Banking giant Wells Fargo & Co. announced Wednesday a deal to acquire Century Bancshares, which operates Century Bank in Texarkana and branches in both Texas and Arkansas.

The stock-for-stock merger is awaiting shareholder approval.
