Let’s hope other school districts do not take a lesson from tiny Harrold, Texas. Readin’, writin’ and reloadin’ just do not seem to go together.

By federal law, guns generally are not allowed on public school property—unless a school district governing board approves an exemption. That’s just what Harrold officials have done.

Yes, our local school districts have armed security. They have established their own in-district police departments. And if that was what Harrold had done, we would not be astounded.
