It remains one of the most notorious crimes in Texas history.

On Dec. 6, 1991, four young girls were murdered at a yogurt shop in Austin. The shop was set on fire.

It took almost eight years before arrests were made in the case.

In October 1999, police arrested Robert Burns Springsteen Jr., 24, Michael James Scott, 25, Maurice Pierce, 24, and Forrest Wellborn, 23.

Scott and Springsteen were convicted in the murders. Charges were dropped against Wellborn and Pierce.
