One of the reasons the Texarkana College Board of Trustees gave for not renewing the contract of TC President Frank Coleman had to do with the funding level of the Texarkana Foundation, which was characterized as low.

But in an examination of the foundation published Sunday in this newspaper, it would appear the foundation is in pretty good shape.

The foundation’s net assets have almost doubled in the past 10 years, from $1.8 million to $3.1 million. Those numbers compare favorably with some other Texas community colleges we looked at.
